Hello everyone!  Sorry it's been so long since we've put any "news" on here.  We have been really busy trying to get things going and progressing here at the shop.

It's been a pleasure meeting all of you, and we are so impressed by the quality of our young (and young at heart) customers!  We have been opened for four months now (geesh, time flies!) and we haven't encountered a 'problem customer' in all that time!  :)

I have posted many times on our "MySpace" site.  It is a little easier to announce daily goings on at the store on that web site than it is here.  But I will try a bit harder to keep this page updated.  I had to wrestle the address and password from MrHoov, just to get here today.  (JK)

The past few months have been really exciting and educational for us.  We have sold many decks of all shapes and colors.  Every shipment from our suppliers feels like Christmas!  It's great!

After much research, we decided to go with "Gator Boards" for our blank decks.  We've had really good feedback from our customers that bought them, and they are a good quality deck!  Very reasonably priced as well!

Right now we have our long sleeve T-shirts, hoodies and beanies on sale.  You can save 20% - 30% and get a jump on some new clothes for the fall season!

If you haven't been to the shop recently, we have changed quite a bit!  I know that it seemed like we were rearranging things every week.  We are finally satisfied with the changes now!  We think the shop looks really great!  Stop by and tell us what you think!
There was an article in The Baytown Sun last week about a second skate park being built in Baytown.  The Municipal Development District board is tossing around ideas for the second skate park.  Right now "Unidad Park" on Baytown's west side looks like the place where it will be built.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that everything works out, and this is built real soon!

I read this in "Entertainment Weekly":  Skate board stars of the AST DEW TOUR leap into action at the season-opening Panasonic Open in Baltimore.  The three-day action-sports fest begins with the Skate Park event, in which Paul Rodriguez ("P-Rod") leads the charge against 17-year-old Ryan Sheckler, the event's two-time champ.  It airs on USA at midnight/11 Central on Friday, June 15, 2007.  Coverage continues on Saturday and Sunday on NBC at 4/3 central with BMX and freestyle-motocross finals.  Ah ... something to do if it rains this weekend!

I hope this helps to get everyone 'updated'.  I will post again real soon!  Until then, Take Care everyone!  Drop and Email if you can!

Hello Baytown!  We would like to introduce ourselves, we are a family owned and operated business and fellow Baytownians.  We were interested in starting a new business, but wanted to do something fun and give the kids (teens) a place to shop here in Baytown.  Skateboarding is getting popular among the young people, but the closest store was miles away, so we offer convenience to our younger customers.  We also offer the most popular skateboards and accessories.

We are a new store and we ask for your patience while we are getting to know our clientele. We welcome your ideas and suggestions and look forward to hearing from you.  We want everyone to get the special skateboard and/or gear that he or she wants…even if we have to special order it.

Our web site is online now! You probably know this because your are reading this Newsletter!!   Some of it is still under construction, though.  We also have a Myspace...the web address is: www.myspace.com/bayouboardsandsports.  The site is monitored daily, and questions will be answered quickly.  CHECK IT OUT!!

Although our stock is mostly skateboards now, we will eventually carry most items included in the “boards” category.  For example:  skim boards (in stock), boogie boards (in stock), knee boards, wake boards and anything else that includes fun and a “board”.  J  We even have motorized ice chests!!

Our prices are competitive with other stores including Internet stores.  If you like to see it first before you buy… you are welcomed to come browse.  We love young people and you will be treated with respect.

Tell your friends and others about your experience with us.  We want your feedback and your business.  The customer is the one who makes us better.

 See you soon!
